ok, so that whole business abotu posting new song ideas up here never really panned out.....

but fear not! we have started playing once again, and have talked to teh owner of pizza schmizza in Forest Grove about playing there, and hes all for it.

we plan on playing 6 original songs (3 older ones, and 3 band spankin new ones) alogn with four covers. the list is as follows:

  • The Face
  • The Sickly
  • Cradle of Sin
  • bass jam (workign title)
  • "reggae" or not so reggae song (dependign on whether or not you are matt)
  • as of yet untitle new heavy song
  • welcome to paradise (green day)
  • nothign else matters (metallica)
  • say it aint so (weezer)
  • hurt (johnny cash (nine inch nails))

ill be playign bass and singing, with matt and graham on guitars and colin on drums.... it will likely be a quasi acoustic set

oh yeah, and if you didnt notice, new web page format!

not quite as long ago as TGB posted, Moose posted

hey, moose here now. yeah, college has been reakign havoc on us as a band, and activity has been slim to nil. good news though, we've started playing again, we just had a jam session the otehr day, to get back in the groove, so to speak. matt and i have been playing aroudn with a few ideas, we've already got teh basic ideas for 4 new songs.

we're kind of rethinkign our creative process here, we want to incorporate everyone into the songwriting process. there will be soem instrument switching, and hopefully, this will help us be more productive.

anyway, ill probly be puttign up some song ideas that matt and i have been messign aroudn with soon. next tiem we get togetehr with the guys, we'll show themn what we have, and we'll see what coems of it

*** everybody! everybody! ***

tgb here - its come to my attention that this site has laid in a very long dormant state, and in case anyone wanted to know why, here ya go:

college!

yes, most of the members of sliverthin are in college (and by most I mean everyone but moose), and at different universities to boot.
but seriously, we still play together, so don't rule out the possibility of new music, or at least some finished songs. it just might happen!

in the meantime, listen to this. i think moose made it a long time ago and never linked to it. its pretty neat. its also the only mp3 you can download right now, because tripod went from 50 to 16 free megs. bastards.

anyhow, have a nice day.

just like a sweet number two, you can...

:download our crap:

well, you could, not anymore

jam session #1 (5.965 MB)

this was just supposed to be a sound check, but we kept playing... i kind of like the 2 minutes of silence at the end

Cradle of Sin (4.14 MB)

our first real recorded song... it seems to have entered into a deep coma, but chances are pretty good that it might possibly have a chance of coming out of it..... only time can tell!

our interpretation of Linus and Lucy (the Peanuts song) (1.24 MB)

this song is dedicated to josh's mom. no, cindy we dont really think you gots a big noggin.... *cough*charlie brown head!*cough*

What's This Life For (no bass) (3.51 MB)

whenever we get together to record, theres usually one person missing, this time it was moose

What's This Life For (no vocals) (3.27 MB)

we just cant seem to do anything right, josh was gone this time

ReJ (zombie version) (3.27 MB)

maybe its not my fault.... bRaINS! BRAINS!!!!!

ReJ (unzombified version) (4.58 MB)

hey wow, we can record the parts seperately?

The Face (3.36 MB)

we sure can record the parts seperately... oh shit! we have to mix them together too! sorry, no bass no vocals

Last Night (3.95 MB)

i think all the instruments are here.... i dont really remember.... i dont think theres any graham in it

The Sickly (4.53 MB)

this was just the drums and guitar..... we had some lyrics, but not quite an entire songs worth. moose and colin wanted to see what it sounded like with vocals, so moose ponied up to teh mic and he repeated the same lyrics a lot.

(i think we have newer versions of almost all of these songs, but band work was cut short when matt and josh headed off to college, and moose for some stupid ass reason went to georgia)

some pics of us goofin' off
